Marjoram, also known as Sweet Marjoram, is a woody, herbaceous plant with delicate pink, purple or white flowers and is a member of the mint family. It was hugely popular wth the ancient Greeks who called it "Joy Mountain", crowning young couples with it during marriage ceremonies as it was believed to nurture love. Marjoram was also added to food, not only as an aromatic herb, but to promote civility and love.
